Role:SAP IBP Senior Expert – Automotive

Location:Remote

1. Preferred: India (Bangalore)

2. Time Zone:Supporting EMEA / European business hours

Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior SAP IBP Expertwith strong Automotive domain exposureto act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME)across demand, supply, and response planning processes. The role focuses on end-to-end IBP solution design, constrained planning, S&OE execution, and deep integration with SAP S/4HANA and PP/DS.

The consultant will partner with business and IT stakeholders to design scalable planning solutions, drive scenario-based decision-making, and ensure seamless execution across strategic, tactical, and operational horizons.

Key Responsibilities

Solution Design & SME Ownership

1. Act as IBP SME, understanding business requirements and designing fit-for-purpose IBP solutions.

2. Translate automotive supply chain needs into scalable IBP architectures and planning models.

3. Drive best practices in IBP design, governance, and execution.

Demand & Supply Planning (Strategic & Tactical)

1. Lead consensus demand planningand constrained supply planningprocesses.

2. Publish monthly forecasts to suppliersfor visibility, capacity alignment, and commit tracking.

3. Align supply plans to critical materials and capacity constraintsusing:

4. Time-series planning

5. Order-based planning views

SAP IBP Response & Supply (S&OE)

1. Configure and manage IBP S&OEfor short- to mid-term supply response.

2. Enable exception-driven planningand rapid mitigation scenarios.

3. Support Control Tower insightsand proactive risk visibility across planning horizons.

Integration & Execution

1. Own IBP ↔ S/4HANA integration, including:

2. Planned Independent Requirements (PIRs)

3. Supply plans and order data

4. Master data harmonization

5. Enable conversion of IBP plans into PP/DS executable plans, including:

6. Capacity reservations

7. Order strategies

8. Horizon definitions

Scenario Planning & Governance

1. Perform time-phased rebalancingof demand, supply, and capacity.

2. Drive what-if scenario analysisfor mix changes and constraint resolution.

3. Support S&OP cycle governance, version management, and scenario comparisons.

4. Align long-horizon demand with strategic capacity planning.

Required Skills & Experience

1. 8+ yearsof SAP experience with strong hands-on SAP IBP expertise.

2. Proven experience in:

3. Consensus demand planning

4. Constrained supply planning

5. SAP IBP Response & Supply (S&OE)

6. Strong knowledge of:

7. Time-series and order-based planning

8. Capacity planning and supplier collaboration

9. Exception-based planning and mitigation

10. Automotive industry experience(highly preferred).

11. Experience with IBP Control Towerand analytics.

12. Excellent stakeholder communication and consulting skills.

Additional / Preferred Skills

1. SAP PP/DS (PP) knowledge – Strong Plus

2. Experience converting IBP plans into execution via PP/DS.

3. Exposure to complex, multi-plant, multi-supplier environments.

4. Experience supporting EMEA stakeholders.
